About Physical Therapy

We’ve loved every minute of our journey

Physiotherapists are primary health care professionals with a significant role in health promotion and treatment of injury and disease. They combine their in-depth knowledge of the body and how it works with specialized hands-on clinical skills to assess, diagnose and treat symptoms of illness, injury or disability.

Physiotherapy is anchored in movement sciences and aims to enhance or restore function of multiple body systems. The profession is committed to health, lifestyle and quality of life. This holistic approach incorporates a broad range of physical and physiological therapeutic interventions and aids.

Additional information about physiotherapy can be found at the Canadian Physiotherapy website physiotherapy.ca or the British Columbia association site bcphysio.org.

We work with a variety of health care conditions, such as:

  • Orthopedic injuries (muscles and joints)
  • Respiratory conditions (COPD, emphysema)
  • Neurological conditions (Muscular Sclerosis, Muscular Dystrophy, Parkinson's)
  • Pre and Post-operative (joint replacements, shoulder repair, low back surgery, Achilles Tendon repair)

We use a variety of techniques, including:
  • Manual therapy (hands on joint and soft-tissue mobilizations and manipulations)
  • Modalities (electrical, laser, ultrasound, IMS, shockwave) to help with tissue recovery and pain management
  • Exercise prescription
  • Education: which is fundamental in helping you to integrate your care into your lifestyle.
